| The Society of Editors (WA) Inc., known as Editors WA, is Western Australia's professional organisation for editors, proofreaders and other professionals in the publishing and written communications industries. |  |
| Founded in 1992 and incorporated in 2000, the society is governed by a constitution and guided by national policy documents prepared by the Institute of Professional Editors. The society is run by a committee elected by its members according to the constitution. | |
Editors WA provides information and advice for prospective clients and we have a freelance register which can be printed out. Membership of the society is open to all individuals who are involved with or interested in the promotion and advancement of the standards and skills of editing. |

Activities of the society include monthly meetings, production of our Bookworm newsletter and the operation of an email mailing list through which members may seek advice on matters of style or usage, or initiate debate on current editing issues. Informal get-togethers are held on the 21st of each month. |
