Editors add value

You probably already know that editors add value to your written work, but you might not know just how many ways an editor can add value to your printed material or electronic documents — whether fiction, non-fiction, magazines, journals (trade, commercial, academic), training material, leaflets, brochures, newsletters, general and annual reports, press releases, tender documents, proposals, conference proceedings, multimedia and web pages, displays or exhibitions.

Avoid costly mistakes

Mistakes and inconsistency can be costly. You may have to reprint to correct an error. You may miss your intended audience entirely due to confusing text and ambiguous detail. An editor can help you pick up problems before they cost you time, reputation and money.

Protect and enhance your image

Misspellings and clumsy grammar are embarrassing in a published work. An editor can focus on the details and make sure your written communication is concise, clear and correct, targeted for the audience and in fluent English.

Organise the logistics

If you are not in the publishing business, working with graphic designers and printers can be difficult. Editors can advise you about the production process, brief designers and printers, and liaise with them to ensure the finished product is precisely what you want and is delivered on time and on budget. Editors can even train your staff to communicate more clearly, working with staff to improve expression, grammar or writing style.
